Margus stared at him for a long moment, then holstered the gun with a sharp click. “You’re coming with me,surrender to police” he said.
Miko nodded, relief and terror warring inside him. “Okay,” he whispered. “Okay. Let’s go.”
As they turned to leave the woods, Miko glanced back once, toward the direction where he’d last seen Emma. His chest ached with guilt and fear.

Then he followed Margus into the dark, the trees closing behind them like a tomb.
